Who are we...?
We are a cycling club established in 1949 and based in Birdwell, an ex-coalmining village near Barnsley in the South Yorkshire area of the UK. Our membership catchment area extends across Barnsley, Sheffield and Rotherham.
From the very beginnings of the club we always been able to meet socially in Birdwell. We have only had three homes in our history. The club first met in a wooden hut that sat on the present site, before moving to the British Legion hut on Chapel Street for many years. Birdwell Community Association then built their new headquarters and we've been there ever since.
Virtually every Friday night, throughout the year, there is the opportunity to meet club-members at the clubroom.
